Surface treatments for the best protection and that exclusive look
Anodising is the electrolytic oxidation of aluminium. The process produces a surface on the light metal that is resistant to corrosion and also to abrasion. Click here for further information.
It is not just common sense and technical considerations that favour anodising; appearances are also important and architects, designers and consumers have a high regard for the aesthetics of anodised aluminium, which can be produced in a lot of surface finishes and colours.
Of some four million square metres of aluminium anodised annually by the apt Hiller Group, Rhenal produces three-quarters. The Monheim-based company is thus one of Europe’s largest anodising plants.
Powder coating has become an established method of surface treatment in many fields of application. The aluminium is first subjected to a pre-treatment and an electrically charged powder coating is then applied to the surface and melted in. The process is completely free from solvents and conserves resources. Various coating systems are used depending on the field of application and the properties required. Powder coated aluminium is ideal for use in outdoor applications. One can use the most varied range of pigments possible in the powder coatings, thus making a simply endless range of colours available. In addition to the standard RAL colours, we offer a number of other standardised colours.
